I'm a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with my bachelor's in journalism and a side major in Spanish. During college, I was a reporter and editor for my campus newspaper, had two reporting internships at daily newspapers in the Midwest and was part of several in-depth projects. I also spent a year as an exchange student in Mexico, reported in Bolivia and took four reconstruction trips to the U.S. Gulf Coast to pick up after hurricanes. After graduating in May 2011, I had a reporting fellowship with News21 (based at Arizona State University) to investigate contamination and self-regulation in the meat industry. In August I moved back to Mexico and became my own boss. I'm an independent translator, editor and communications consultant. I help small businesses, large companies and government departments refine their communications to make them more effective in both Spanish and English.
